Stampin' Tips & Tricks

I am always running across unique tricks and tips that make crafting a little easier, so I thought I would make a place to keep them all.  Comment with a trick and tip of your own!

  1. Scoring Board:  When you are using the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool (see page 205 in the Annual Catalog), rub your card stock with wax paper prior to scoring. The wax paper causes the Stylus to easily glide across the card stock. The idea also works well when using the Envelope Board and the Gift Bag Punch Board (see page 204 of the Annual Catalog). Shared by Nora Tebbets from her friend Beth Hair 7.27.17
  2. How to Clean your Trimmer!  This tip comes from Frances Martin, a SU Demonstrator, I got in touch with her to make sure I could share her tip with you all.  She was very gracious and said *Sue of course, please share with everyone*!  I tried it on my Trimmer & WALA it worked wonders. Dale has his own SU Trimmer and I didn’t think there was any hope in getting his cleaned.  <Our Trimmers look brand new, AMAZING>   Frances suggests cleaning the Trimmer once a month (good habit to get into).
    * Use a very soft cloth, take your Trimmer completely apart,  Using WD 40 spray small amount on your soft cloth and wipe down the Trimmer, use a ole Tooth Brush to get into the SLOT that holds the TRACK used for cutting, do both sides.  This  slot collects dust etc. stuff your soft cloth in there and make sure it is clean before putting the Track back in place.  Wipe down on the bottom of the Trimmer as well *.  Shared on 8/8/17

  3. Today I am sharing a tip from Frances Martin.  I love our Stampin' Up! stamps, but I don't love it when my rubber cling stamps fall off of the blocks.  I used to use Tombow glue or other Snail glues on my block, but they would get sticky and messy.  Over time, I just decided to stop putting the stickers on my rubber stamps.  That doesn't really work well in my card classes though, especially with greetings and sayings.  This idea is involves using Surgical Spirits to clean your blocks so the clings will stick.  Surgical Spirit is NOT available in store in the USA but I found Amazon will ship it to the USA CLICK HERE for the link. It is about $10 a bottle but it will last you for years. I am definitely going to give it a try! Shared by Frances Martin
