February 20th Newsletter

Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start.  And whatever you are doing, that you make some time for crafting or sending a card.  I received a bit of news today that my Stamparatus will be available to ship on February 21st.  I'm so excited that I will be able to share it in my March classes!  There's a lot of other great stuff going on with Stampin' Up!, so I will get right to it.

Craftroom Notes
My Valetines were a huge hit!  I've got several other orders in the works including a year's worth of birthdays and anniversaries for a customer, so that is keeping me busy. I will be posting some Easter cards on my Facebook page very soon.

Stampin' Up! Promotions
Sale-A-Bration is still going on and will end March 31st.  On February 16th a new Sale-A-Bration bundle was released called Blossoming Basket.  Love the embossing folder on this one.  The previous Sale-A-Bration items are still availalbe as well.  Remember that this year there are options for items if you spend $50 or $100.

Occassions catalog will run until May 31st.  Some itmes will be carried over and some will not, so make sure to get anything you have your eye on before then.

Paper Pumpkin has a lot going on right now!  I just received my February kit and can't wait to try it.  Right now is the perfect time to try it because you can receive Sale-A-Bration items with your 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month subscription. Plus with each tier of subscription you receive substantial savings.  The other exciting news is that Paper Pumpkin is celebrating 5 years in March.  They are saying thank you to their customers by including a fantastic free gift and a specially designed Anniversary box.  To receive this special box, you must subscribe by March 10th. Next week I will share some more exciting news about Paper Pumpkin, so watch for that e-mail. 

 

Tips
Today I am sharing a tip from Frances Martin.  I love our Stampin' Up! stamps, but I don't love it when my rubber cling stamps fall off of the blocks.  I used to use Tombow glue or other Snail glues on my block, but they would get sticky and messy.  Over time, I just decided to stop putting the stickers on my rubber stamps.  That doesn't really work well in my card classes though, especially with greetings and sayings.  This idea is involves using Surgical Spirits to clean your blocks so the clings will stick.  Surgical Spirit is NOT available in store in the USA but I found Amazon will ship it to the USA CLICK HERE for the link. It is about $10 a bottle but it will last you for years. I am definitely going to give it a try!

When I first joined Stampin' Up! I had no intention of teaching classes at all.  I planned on making and selling cards as a way to help pay for my hobby and getting a discount on my supplies seemed like a good idea.  That was working fine and I started doing some orders for friends.  I wondered what would actually happen if I taught I class.  I ended up loving it and so did my friends and customers.  With my hectic schedule and a senior in High School, I am only able to teach two classes every other month right now.  I am surprised to say that it is enough to support my hobby and meet the requirement to stay active.  Plus, I love doing it!
